Sept. 24th Screen on the Green

The Martinsville Henry County Community Nature Initiative, through the Virginia Museum of Natural History, along with Martinsville Parks and Recreation, is hosting "Screen on the Green" on Friday, September 24 beginning at 8 p.m. "Screen on the Green" is a monthly event that features hands-on activities before the screening of a family-oriented movie. This month's screening, "Happy Feet" will take place at Hooker Field in Martinsville.

"'Screen on the Green' has become an extremely successful event that encourages community residents to enjoy the outdoors through a peaceful, restful, outdoor setting," said Tamara Poles, nature and outdoor education manager at the museum.

The September "Screen on the Green" features many fun activities before the popular, animated film, "Happy Feet". Attendees can take part in face painting, relay races, bubble activities, and more.

There is a minimal fee of $2/person to attend the event.
